Client Stories: Meet some of the people we help

Are you a legal aid client or advocate who has a story to share?
If so, contact Tom Brant at tbrant@mlac.org.

Clients assisted by legal aid programs include low-income individuals, as well as the elderly and those with disabilities. When necessities like housing, employment, health, or safety are endangered, the judicial system is often the only solution for these vitally important challenges. Unable to afford private legal help, and with nowhere else to turn, legal aid is often their last resort. To meet the general income eligibility for legal aid, clients must have incomes below 125 percent of the federal poverty line (view the 2012 poverty guidelines).
